A Few of My Favorite Things
Much to my surprise on Sunday night the family member in charge of the TV remote actually stopped on The Sound of Music. Shocker. I kept my delight silenced since any kind of excitement on my end would surely cause continued channel surfing. We actually watched most of The Sound of Music. Together. On a Sunday night. In the same room. Switched to a cooking show during commercials. Was this was my Christmas gift a little early? As a result I have had those infamous catchy tunes singing in my head for a few days now.

Pumpkin Bread Recipe (from Kristin H. years ago)
3 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs, lightly beaten
16 ounces canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
2/3 cup water
3 1/3 cups flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease two 9-by-5-inch loaf pans. Stir together the sugar and oil in a bowl. Stir in the eggs, pumpkin and water. Combine the dry ingredients in separate bowl. Blend the dry ingredients and water into wet mixture, Divide the batter between two loaf pans. Bake 1 hour. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from the pans and cool.
